A Faith-Driven Investing Expert Helping Believers Steward Their Wealth for God’s Glory

Meet Stephen Jackson

Have you ever asked yourself
“How can I honor God with my wealth?”

THE QUESTION THAT CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING

Sure, I had experience making charitable contributions to organizations doing work that aligned with my values.

But my investment portfolio? It wasn’t something I ever thought about through a biblical lens.

I never really asked myself: “Would Jesus invest in this?”

Like most people, I wanted to create my version of success, not God’s. That meant investing to grow my financial resources.

I had never considered how I could use my money to advance God’s Kingdom until He tasked me with the mission to do so.

Before God brought me to the faith-driven investing movement (and before anyone thought of me as an expert) I myself had never thought deeply about that question before.

Today, I speak and teach as a faith driven investing expert -

It’s about starting a conversation that just might change everything.

Because our money isn’t just a financial resource. It’s a spiritual one.

So whether you're here because you're curious or convicted, I’m really glad you found your way.

This isn’t about having it all figured out.

part of a growing global conversation among Christians who want their capital to reflect biblical convictions without sacrificing stewardship, excellence, or impact.

HOW I GOT HERE

It was a journey marked by salvation, surrender, setbacks, and slow, steady transformation.

God used ordinary moments, painful trials, and surprising pivots to shape my understanding of stewardship and align my heart with His mission.

This is the story of how God reoriented my ambitions (and my investments) for His glory.

I didn’t wake up one day with a calling to faith-driven investing.

When I Met Jesus

In a small-town country church during a weeklong revival, I found my stubborn 7-year-old self at a crossroads: go down to the altar and surrender to Jesus in front of everyone or stay seated. Hands sweating, I gripped the pew and couldn’t bring myself to move.

I walked out the church and said to my mom, “I totally blew it. I need to become a Christian and I missed it.”

So I professed my faith in Jesus in the church parking lot instead of the alter.

1995:

The Foundations: Family, Faith, and Farmin'

My Christian education gave me more than academics—it gave me a biblical lens for life.

Meanwhile, I grew up working on my family’s farm, working long hours starting in the early mornings. It’s where I learned the value of a dollar. But more than that, it’s where I met my wife, Misty.

Our story started there, between hay bales and harvests. We found love on the farm!

2000–2012:

Building My Kingdom

My twenties were marked by selfish ambition.

I had a clear vision for what I wanted: a successful career, a comfortable lifestyle, a beautiful wife, a house on some land, and enough money to do whatever I wanted. My goals weren’t evil on the surface— but they were entirely mine. I was building my kingdom, not seeking God’s.

2005–2014:

Suffering

In the midst of my selfishness, God didn’t leave me there. He broke me. He humbled me.

Cancer in 2012. A 50-foot fall in 2014. Those years brought suffering I wouldn’t wish on anyone—but they also brought me to a place of surrender.

I wasn’t alive by accident. God had spared me because He had prepared something for me to do.

2012 – 2014:

Full Surrender

It was in that place of brokenness and suffering that God brought me to a turning point—not just of recovery, but of surrender. Cancer had stripped away my physical strength. The fall had stripped away my illusion of control.

And the Spirit of God, in His mercy, was stripping away the last of my resistance. I had believed in Jesus for years. I had placed my faith in Him for salvation.

But this was something more. This was full surrender.

I remember the moment vividly—recovering from surgery, grappling with pain and limitation, when I finally let it all go. There were no fireworks or thunderclaps—just a still, sacred moment with God when I whispered:

“Jesus, I’m Yours. All of me. Forever.”

2014:

Becoming a Disciple and Making Disciples

Before I could lead others, I had to follow. I spent years learning what Jesus loves, what He hates, and how He calls us to live.

I began to find joy in helping others grow. I helped launch a nonprofit focused on marriage enrichment. (Because I hated seeing marriages fall apart.)

I served on the adult discipleship team at Lakewood Baptist. I led men’s groups, helped multiply small groups, and prayed a lot. God used that season to stir my heart for the nations.

2014–2020:

Another Step of Surrender

God called our family to take the gospel to unreached people groups in Central Asia. It was an Abraham moment—laying what I loved most on the altar. We were ready to go.

With 20 suitcases on my garage floor ready to be packed, the world shut down as COVID hit. After six months of staring at them, I was led to pray the prayer that would shift the trajectory of my life entirely. I asked: “Father, how would You delight to use my family among the nations?”

And I heard His reply: “Use investments for My glory and the good of the unreached.”

2019–2020:

Learning Stewardship

I didn’t know much about how investing could advance God’s Kingdom, but I knew I had to learn. I spent 2021 diving deep—studying biblical stewardship, faith-driven investing, and how wealth could be used to honor God across the world.

2021:

Investing for Kingdom Impact

Don Simmons invited me to help launch a new RIA firm that served faith-driven investors and deployed capital in radically different ways.

I served as Chief Impact Officer for three years–attending conferences, building relationships, and investing my own money in missional businesses reaching unreached people groups. Guiding clients to do the same brought me so much joy.

I wrote a 10-week masterclass on biblical stewardship based on Don Simmons’ book The Steward Investor. Over 18 months, I walked more than 200 people through it. I also led multiple faith-driven investor groups. In that season, God made it clear—this isn’t just something I’m called to do. I’m called to teach it too.

2022–2024:

A New Chapter Begins

At the end of 2024, I sensed God leading me away from Steward Advisors Group and into something broader. I joined the team at Faith-Driven Investor, and through prayer, felt the nudge to begin writing the book I’m working on today.

I’m also raising my three children - Oakley, Oxley, and Olive - alongside my wife Misty, to live a life rooted in responsibility, stewardship, and contributing to God’s glory.
